Moving House and Removals- Start packing/sorting ASAP . Never too soon to declutter. - Land/Mobile phones. You'll need to tell your phone company you're moving and mobiles are usually registered to an address. - Car. Change address on your driving licence and vehicle registration document - Bank. You don't want your bank statements or cards going to the wrong address - Credit/Store cards. - Schools. - Inland Revenue. - Insurances/Pensions. - Landlord/Tenants - Doctor, Dentist & Opticians - Council Tax. - Water rates - stop at old and start at new - Pets - can someone look after them? Use a cattery or kennels if they
will be less stressed there. - Electoral Roll - so you can vote! - Electricity.* Contact your existing and new electricity companies. Advise them of your new address and date of removal. Give at least 48 hours notice. - Gas.* Contact your existing and new gas companies. Advise them of
your new address and date of removal. Give at least 48 hours notice. - Water. At least 48 hours notice is required by both your existing and your new authority to arrange for disconnection and re-connection of supply. - Mail. You can have your mail re-directed by the Post Office. This can be arranged by post. Just pick up a form at the post office, they require seven days notice. - Change of address. - Subscriptions. - Newspapers/Milk. Settle all outstanding accounts and cancel them all. - Borrowed or loaned items. Return any items that you have borrowed from neighbours and library! - Children. Don't leave them behind. Make sure you have toys etc on
hand for them, or send them to grannys for the day!
Laundry - do the last lot of laundry before you go - don't leave clothes
in the washer! The kettle and brewing gear ! Bathroom - don't forget your toiletries and toothbrushes! Or whats hanging on the back of the door. Snacks - pack a box of snacks for the moving day!
