Pensions - saving for your old age pension is a major issue which a lot of people seem to ignore but shouldn't!In 1960 it was estomated that for every one pensioner there was 4.6 workers, by 1990 this had fallen to 2.2 workers and is estimated to be in 2020 1 pensioner for 1.5 workers. This means that people will have to be more reliant on money they have saved for their own old age. Saving money for old age is usually done through a pension, although other options might be available to people, it is a serious subject and we have provided some links to UK Pension & Government sites which offer unbiased pension advice.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for the Government's welfare reform agenda. Its aim is to promote opportunity and independence for all. It delivers support and advice through a modern network of services to people of working age, employers, pensioners, families and children and disabled people.
